Love or Lust?

I mean, maybe it’s real love. I wanted to wait a couple weeks before I hit this couple because I just didnt think it was possible. Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardasian tying the knot after just after few weeks? Amazing. In this situation I am rooting for Khloe, because I have been following her and she hasn’t had the best of luck with men in her life. She probably found something really special in Lamar and didn’t want to let that go. It’s not unusual for a Kardasian to lockdown a a black man, and clearly what black man will run from a Kardasian? Exactly. I wish them the best of luck in their marriage and hope it gets past a year. oh and no kids.
Come on Mo, A Talk Show?!

I tried to give Mo’Nique a chance with this one, but I couldn’t continue to allow my earsdrums to hear the ratchett sounds on my TV. LOL
Okay, let’s be honest here. I love Mo’Nique for many reasons; she is very confident black woman that embraces beauty in aspects. I find her a role model to many full figured women, giving us hope in the Entertainment Industry. But…there is always a but. I do NOT feel that she should’ve been given a talk show. A comedy show maybe, but not a talkshow on BET that can be aired for all of “White America” to see.
For so long we have tried to break away from the stereotypical image of the “blackface” in Hollywood and I feel that she is not helping with it. All the yelling and screaming and loud noises is okay for excitement, but you can’t be sitting at an interview yelling and carrying on, whatever happened to holding a decent conversation? I honestly don’t think she can do that. It’s not about being funny, its about knowing when to control yourself in certain situations like a TALK SHOW.
I don’t know if you noticed but BET has really been following these stereotypical images of black women, you would never see Oprah on BET, Ever. I honestly don’t think BET has enough revenue to house a women like her. But more importantly, I have been shaking my head all week at Mo’Nique, just hoping that she will turn her act around or at least turn that microphone down so she doesnt blow America away.
Usher’s New Single “Papers” and his Relationship Drama
Why must Usher make hit singles with his relationship problems? I couldn’t date him becase I’m afraid I’m going to be a #1 hit single by the time we break up, like seriously. The Song has great melody but as I listen to the lyrics, he’s the same ol’ unhappy black man whining about unsatisfied he is with his women. Get it together my brutha! What do ya’ll think?
FOX brings more laughs to….Black People?

Really?…..I guess. That’s exactly How I felt when watching “The Cleveland Show” for the first time yesterday, monday at 8:30 pm. I am not much of a cartoon person because they just make me mad sometimes LOL But I will tell you that this cartoon that is supposed to be the “Black” family guy made me laugh just a tad bit.
According to LA Times The Show is dianosed as so: Following his divorce, Cleveland Brown (voiced by “Family Guy” producer Mike Henry) announces to his friends on “Family Guy” that he is taking his son, Cleveland Jr., and heading west to become a minor league baseball scout. But first he makes a stop in his hometown of Stoolbend, Va. There Cleveland gets sidetracked by his high school sweetheart, Donna (Sanaa Lathan), now divorced from the man she chose over Cleveland. Before long, Cleveland and his son have moved in with Donna, her teenage daughter, Roberta (Reagan Gomez-Preston), and 5-year-old son, Rallo (also Henry), who is a foul-mouthed stand-in for Stewie, channeling blaxploitation films rather than a British accent.
So did you know the Cleveland is played by a White guy? Yeah, Exactly. I can’t laugh too much because what does the producer of family guy know about being a black man living in certain situationns today. I’m sure he gets help on the script but something just doesn’t click to me. He also sounds really mono-tone, which throws it all off. If The Cleveland Show just worked on their dialogue, it would be a great ball of laughter for me.
Bitches and Fashion: Fall Reality Series Kicks Off
Yes, I love it. I wasn’t a big fan last season, but after watching the first episode I knew I would be hooked.
Let me start by saying for those of you who do not watch MTV, it is a reality series called “The City” based off Whitney (2nd girl from the left) who used to play on “The Hills”. She moves to New York City and lands a great job where she that she is juggling with hopes to producing her new fashion line. Along the way she ecounters people who help her or hate on her dreams throughout the season.
The first episode was all about the female dog, BITCH. Excuse my language but there is no other way to describe the new chick Roxxy and Olivia. First of all, Roxxy comes to New York just to fee load off Whitney and of course Whitney is not going to see it because she’s too NICE.
Olivia is the 2nd BITCH, she clearly gets promoted to accessories with ELLE Magazine and immediately thinks that she is running game. Little does she know, the publicist shuts her DOWN as well as ELLE’s director. AH HA!
If you missed the first episode you can catch “The City” tuesday Nights at 10:30 p.m
Jay-Z Discusses the N-Word on Oprah
Today Jay-Z made one of his rare appearances with Oprah on her show today. I must add that he is the most sexiest-ugliest man that I can admit to. LoL anyways, Many aspects were discussed but I wanted to show you one that really hit home for me. (video Courtesy of worldhiphop.com)
I have my different views on the N-Word but I am in love with hip-hop and I feel that Oprah was being very biased by saying she doesnt support it, wait no more like a hyprocite. Why would you invited Jay-Z onto your show and then say that you pretty much don’t support his music? Out of pure ignorance the word “Nigga” has slipped out plenty of times in my casual conversation but I do recognize its history and significance to African-Americans. Jay makes a valid point saying
“People give words power and we take the power out of the word”.
True. I understand where he is coming from when he says that, cause our generation today has took the power out of the word nigga and turned into something different, but I guess Oprah is like a gazillion generations down the line to understand.
What do Ya’ll think?
