Rossi x Love (Video)

Check out the official music video for “Love” by upcoming Bay Area bred singer, Rossi better known as @RossiSings.  If you are local you probably heard him on the radio or even seen him perform a few times. Or if you’re cool enough you might catch him wearing his jean jacket, fedora, trademark in the streets.  Either way, Rossi has given quite the buzz. I love how tasteful the video is and how expressive he makes himself for a debut as an artist.  You don’t come across too many aspiring Bay Area singers with originality like he does.  The “Save The Last Dance” sequence was cute.  Watch and tell me what you guys think?

Baby Jaymes x Heart and Soul

His sound is part r&b, part hip-hop, and part mystery. Check out new music from Oakland bred singer/songwriter Baby Jaymes, “Heart and Soul”.   His new single is described as a declaration of who he is and his musical intentions.  He defines his genre of music as “Ghetto Retro”- making him a musical chameleon with soul.  Baby Jaymes addresses issues of following your own passion and believing that you can succeed.  I think this song sends out a perfect message to any individual who puts their heart into whatever they do and show that you don’t have to belittle your character, or your well being.  Being different is cool 🙂

“why you always doing you, do what everybody do, if you really trying to get it?/ instead of trying to dumb me down, doing what they’re doing now, here’s something you won’t forget.”

Baby Jaymes has a album out,  The Baby James Record, where he’s done work with Raphael Saadiq and George Clinton of Parliament-Funkadelic. Check out his website here for more of his work.

Carlitta Durand x iCarli (Video)

I love discovering artists and so I came across Carlitta Durand with her visual for “iCarli” and I had to dig deeper.  Carlitta is a Minneapolis born and North Carolina grown R&B/jazz/hip-hop artist that has a passion for diversity. Her latest project “Nostalgic Nights” is a small yet, diverse and explosive insider to what Calitta Durand is capable of.  She is recently attending North Carolina Central University, where she is worked with artists like 9th Wonder and Little Brother.  I find it dope that she writes her own lyrics and tells a story in each song that anyone can relate to.  Her voice is very soulful yet jazzy and I will definitely be following her progress as an artist.

Check out the video for “iCarli” and tell me what you think.

Summer Vacation- Lydia Caesar

As much as I love underground music, I feel like this R&B songstress is making a staple in her career. Lydia Caesar newest single “Summer Vacation” was produced months ago but I felt that it’s melodies are perfect for this new chapter. This New York City native sings lyrics of summer love and the carefree enviornment we all long for. Who know’s what the summer is going to bring us! But it’s so reflective, take a listen!
