This past monday, January 18th, 2010, was not just any old day off that was granted by my school but more of a reflection of new beginnings. Many students, communities, and countries around the world celebrated the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I had the opportunity to walk with my fellow classmates at Hampton University as we marched from our landmark, the Emancipation Oak to Ogden Hall for a ceremony.
The ceremony was put together by the Office of Student Activities, where the Pan-Hellenic Council sponsored the event. Through prayer, musical selections, poems, and speeches we were all able to embrace such a beautiful moment. Here I have captured some footage and compiled it into a contempary video so that you can share and remember the experiences of Martin Luther King Day 🙂
