For my chics in Transition. . .

Lately I’ve noticed some young ladies having a hard time with their hair. I get comments like “I dont wanna get a perm” but then they try to rock a style with their own hair even though they know their hair can’t possibly do all of that.  My theory is there is NO need to fry your hair to shreds (especially if your hair is not healthy enough) just to achieve a hairstyle that can be instantly done in minutes.  And you wonder how can that be?  WIGS!  Don’t shy away from this subject because you will soon find out how left out you are and how man women walk around today with wigs on their head; including stars like Beyonce.  So if you find yourself in a rutt don’t resort to the creamy crack just yet, a nice hair piece or wig can bring you back from the grave and hide your transitional hair until you learn to manage it.

I have puchased two wigs by Equal brandname….

Some days you just have to let your own hair rest…so instead of everyone seeing your bad hair day, just pop on your instant fab!

Dedicated to my Readers.

This is for you guys, thanks for being so supportive of me. It’s entitled…The Writer.

Free my mind, free your spirit

Easily written but hardly spoken.

Who is that woman you think of?

I’ll stimulate your mind, and have sex with your intellect

Photographer, your inspirations, documentarian, my wisdom.

You don’t happen to know about what going on in our world?

My everlasting story, from the page turning and my paper scribbling

To my thoughts unwinding

To my intelligence unfolding

To make my fingers breathing

From the flow of the pen

All from within

I am your writer.

Sade pleases the Afro Chic.

It took her 10 years, but Sade is back and is ready to fill your speakers on those rainy cloudy days.  Her soft tones and mystical melodies are showcased in her highly anticipated album “Soldier of Love” which will debut Feb. 9th.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day…

10 tracks were lyrically created to flow from one sound to another and from your heartbeat to your mind.  I found myself completely lost in my thoughts as I gazed out the window listening to the percussion and chimes as well as the lyrics that she was giving me.  My favorite song is called “The Moon and the Sky” and it talked about an admiration a lover has for someone that cant be explained or shown…its now added into my writer’s block playlist, thankyou.

Sade is back to take on the contemporary scene and will continue to give music lovers a reason to be pleased.

We Want Freedom.

Just wanted to show you this video clip of the “Black Panther Party” founded in my hometown Oakland, California. If I were born at the time, I would be running streets with them, seriously.

The Hippest Trip in America

Peace Love and Soooooooooooooooul.

VH1 is airing a special called “Soul Train: The Hippest Trip in America” this friday February 5th in honor of Black History Month.

"Ball of Light." PPR_Scribe

I read an earlier review on variety.com that gave positive feedback that this special would be a hit.  Make sure that you tune into this 90 minute segment to see interviews and old school flasbacks of the most watched and known party tv show “Soul Train”.  I’m not even gonna front like I didn’t catch the late night re-runs, jumped up on my bed and started to break dance in the sheets. Gosh, I remember the days…Do You?

Happy Black History Month

The month of february is great after all. With love in the air for Valentine’s Day we must remember our black history in America.  Although the celebration should be a year-a-round holiday, black people now have an opportunity to exploit our rich history that has grown and molded African Americans on television, newspapers, media, t-shirts, classrooms…. ALL MONTH.  I am going to do my part in sharing a few facts, wisdom, and insight that I too have learned during this month of postings. So sit back and join the rollercoast of Black History Looooooooooveeeeeeeeeeee.
